The recent rain has seen a welcome increase in the water level in the lake – Little Denny is now fully covered and we have already had to move in the RIB pontoon by about 12 feet. Although it’s getting chilly now, there is still lots of great sailing to be had along with other events coming up.
Carol Service on Denny Island – Weds 10-Dec-25

The group of singers at last years service
The Police Group are duty on Wednesday 10-Dec-25 and with Brian Brookes are arranging carols on the Island as in previous years and to remember our fellow sailors whose ashes are scattered there.
We plan to gather from 10:00 and will run a ferry service to get everyone who wants to across to the Island for 11:00. We have got lots of helpers. We will sing three songs with music and remember our friends before getting you back ashore
Your Club Needs You
Finally, a continued plea for help!
Our current Rear Commodore will shortly be relocating away from the area and we desperately need a volunteer to fill his boots.
This is an important role ensuring the ongoing maintenance of the clubhouse and grounds for the benefit of all members, supported closely by other volunteers already on the club committees and also by other enthusiastic groups of volunteers such as the ‘Chew Choppers’, a pontoon maintenance group, and a well established network of contractors and local companies that help provide skilled resource as needed.
Please email or talk with me, or another flag officer, if you may be able to help and to find out more
Annual Dinner Collection
I hope everyone enjoyed the annual dinner – you will be pleased to hear that a grand total of £310 was raised over the evening for our speaker’s nominated charity, Prostrate Cancer UK, in addition to a complete sell out of Stick’s own book.
