Join Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club: new members please apply online here:
We recommend that you visit the club to meet some of our members and see what we have to offer as we would be delighted to show you around. All membership applications are subject to an approval process which usually takes up to 2 weeks. You will be kept up to date by email regarding the status of your application.
Membership runs from 1st April each year but you are welcome to join at any stage during the year. Members (except Social and Junior) are expected to do 2-3 sailing duties per year (see Club Duties page for further information).
Any dinghy kept or sailed at the club will need to be registered with the club and a boat fee paid as a part of your membership. You will be allocated a boat space in the dinghy park by the Dinghy Park Manager. We have club boats available for hire, so if you don’t own a boat, you don’t need to buy one to join the club; you can take time to decide which boat is most appropriate for you.
Frostbite Membership 2023 – Individual £72, Junior £37
Available to members of other sailing clubs that do not offer racing during the winter.
Join Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club temporarily for the ‘Frostbite series’ club racing which runs from 1st January to 31st March 2023 on Sundays. Two back to back morning races are currently planned (any changes will be communicated to members).
The fee for 2023 is £72 per sailor plus £100 refundable gate key deposit (if required). For junior sailors we also offer a Junior Frostbite Membership for £37. For the avoidance of doubt for a double handed boat both helm and crew need to join as Frostbite members.
You are also entitled to leave your boat at the club for the duration of your membership.
Membership is non-refundable should any Covid-19 Government restrictions limit travel to the club.
