Chew Crew Starts Up!
Sunday 6th May, and Chew Crew was back for 2018 with 12 keen participants and 3 brand new members to the club! Unfortunately there was no wind or very small occasional breeze. However this did not stop the youngster wanting to get on the water. 3 Optibats were launched with the help of the Lott family for supporting the younger members and getting them sailing. The other group of 9 went out in Tera’s and Toppers. Unfortunately the wind dropped and many of the sailors needed towing towards Denny Island. We then rafted up and had some skill games and boat swapping which inevitably led to some swimming. On the return back to the beach all were sailing back looking very competent. Shame I didn’t take a photo!!
At the end of the session we had 100% smiley faces and all keen to come back next week. A great start to the season. Thanks to all parents who helped out last Sunday, without parent support Chew Crew couldn’t run.
