Try Sailing With RYA Push The Boat Out at CVLSC Saturday 19-May-18

Are you looking for a new way to get outdoors and active or find something you can enjoy together with the family? If the answer is yes, Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club is inviting you and your family to come and try sailing for free on Saturday 19 May.

Whether you’re completely new to the sport or looking to get back on the water, RYA Push the Boat Out which takes place throughout May is the perfect time to give it a go.

The nationwide event will see thousands of people taking part, with open days and taster sessions taking place at sailing clubs and centres across the country.

We’re inviting the local community to come down to have a go at sailing, see what the Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club has to offer and get involved. Who knows, you might just get hooked!” commented Helen Martin, the club’s Commodore.

Starting at 10 a.m. on 19 May there will be a whole host of activities taking place including tours around the club, talks and demonstrations about the various types of dinghies sailed, together with an opportunity to enjoy a 30 minute taster sail on the lake with one of our experienced helms. Chew Valley Lake also has a well established disabled sailing association, CLADS, who are also offering taster sessions on the day. The activities are absolutely free and the club’s café and bar will be serving food, drinks and snacks.

The day is free, but registration is required.

Please register online now and also bring with you a completed Booking Form for each person attending. The Booking Form (pdf) can be downloaded from CVLSC Push the Boat Out Booking Form 2018

Sailing can be as physical or as relaxing as you want to make it; you can sail with others or on your own, do it competitively or potter about and just enjoy the gentle escape of being outside in the elements.
