PUSH THE BOAT OUT AND TRY SAILING THIS MAY AT CHEW VALLEY LAKE SAILING CLUB

Are you looking for a new way to get outdoors and active or find something you can enjoy together with the family? If the answer is yes, Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club is inviting you and your family to come and try sailing for free on Saturday 20 May.

Whether you’re completely new to the sport or looking to get back on the water, RYA Push the Boat Out (13-21 May) is the perfect time to give it a go.

The nine day nationwide event will see hundreds of people taking part in the sport with open days and taster sessions taking place at sailing clubs and centres across the country.

Starting at 10 a.m. on 20 May there will be a whole host of activities taking place including tours around the club, talks and demonstrations about the various types of dinghies sailed, together with an opportunity to enjoy a 30 to 40 minute taster sail on the lake with one of our experienced helms. Chew Valley Lake also has a well established disabled sailing association, CLADS, who are also offering taster sessions on the day. The activities are absolutely free and the club’s café and bar will be serving food, drinks and snacks. To ensure you make the most of your visit it is essential that you register online here.

Sailing can be as physical or as relaxing as you want to make it; you can sail with others or on your own, do it competitively or potter about and just enjoy the gentle escape of being outside in the elements.
