RS FEVA training
The RS Feva is a fun, fast but easy to sail two person dinghy with an asymmetric spinnaker for exciting downwind sailing. In 2005 it was selected as one of the RYA’s National Junior Classes with regional and national training squads. Since, it has rapidly grown to become one of the most popular junior two-handed racing classes and at Chew we would like to help introduce our juniors into this exciting world of sailing by providing training, support and encouragement and by developing our own RS Feva Squad.
RS Feva training sessions are planned throughout the year and are published in the Club’s Sailing Programme. They are open to all junior members, and any adults that sail with a child. The objective of the training is to introduce and encourage sailors into racing and so anyone taking part must already be able to sail. Additionally when there is no formal training RS Feva sailors meet on a Sunday afternoon to take part in club racing. At these times there should always be someone on hand to help familiarise sailors with the start and course.
Many of the Feva sailors at the Club sail their own boats although the Club also owns two RS Feva’s that are used for training but can also be hired by club members for a small fee at other times. We also try and cater for everyone so whether your ambition is to compete at regional, national or international events or simply to have fun on the water you are welcome to join us.
